Scary phone calls

On Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 1:02 p.m. Campus Safety and Denver Police Department responded to the report of harassment at Ben Cherrington Hall. An on-scene investigation revealed a staff member was receiving harassing phone calls. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.

Backup accident

On Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 2:10 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a traffic accident in parking lot 123. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU student was backing her personal vehicle out of a parking space when she struck a parked vehicle owned by the University. No injuries and minor damage were reported. Risk Management will be notified.

Accident part two

On Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 3:21 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a traffic accident in parking lot H2. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU student parked her personal vehicle in the lot on Sunday, Oct- 22 at 8:00 p.m. When the student returned to her vehicle on Monday, Oct. 23 at 2 p.m. she discovered scratches on the front bumper. The student was advised she could file a report with Denver Police Department. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.

Bike theft foiled

On Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 12:20 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a suspicious person at the Fisher Center. An on-scene investigation revealed a pair of bolt cutters was found near the bicycle rack. A bicycle had markings consistent with the bolt cutters. Campus Safety confiscated the bolt cutters and attempted to contact the bicycle’s owner. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.

Conduct violation

On Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 5 p.m. a DU staff member reported a code of conduct violation in parking lot L involving a DU student. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.

Parking permit swiped

On Thursday, Oct. 26 an unaffiliated party reported a theft in parking lot L. A Campus Safety investigation revealed a DU parking permit was taken from a secured vehicle on Tuesday, Oct. 24 between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The party reported there were no signs of forced entry. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.

Backpack jacked

On Thursday, Oct. 26 at 11:35 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at the Penrose Library. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU student left a backpack unsecured and unattended in a study area at 9 p.m. When he returned to retrieve the backpack at 11:30 p.m. he discovered it was missing. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.

Underage drunks

On Friday, Oct. 27 at 2:31 a.m. a Campus Safety officer was conducting a routine patrol in the Harper Humanities Gardens when she observed two males who were acting suspiciously. An on-scene investigation revealed two underage DU students were in possession of alcohol. The alcohol was confiscated by Campus Safety. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
