Mr Edelman seems to think that the current NFL Draft rules have been established with commerce and profitability in mind. I wonder what value he places on a college degree? Does it occur to your sports editor that the rules have been established with the goal of improving the maturity and mental capacity of the players? He cites the NBA’s more relaxed rules as a system that works. I think the NBA rules prove my point that the players need more academic exposure at the college level to improve the quality of the player and to provide them with more options in life off the playing field.
