Each vignette is comprised of two or three people that sit in a cafCB) drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes.
A few of the actors/musicians in the film play themselves, while most play specific roles.
The characters just sit and discuss random topics such as caffeine popsicles, how coffee and cigarettes are not a healthy lunch, and Paris in the 1920s.
Each vignette has its own title and own subject that continues throughout the film.
There are 11 vignettes in all, each with a storyline, problem and solution.
The film is in black and white to represent coffee and cigarettes.

This movie is funny, not in a laugh out loud way, but a clever and smart way.
It is the type of film that is about nothing and everything at the same time.
Even though it seems as though the movie might not really go anywhere because of its mellow plot, it is sure to keep anyone’s attention.
The topics the characters talk about are so out of the blue and funny just because no one else would have thought of them.
With a cast of amazing and eccentric actors and musicians, Jarmusch could not go wrong.
“Coffee and Cigarettes” opens May 28.
