Eleven student organizations received a total of $10,000 in additional Senate funding at the appeals process this week.
After each petitioning organization gave a 2-3 minute presentation and the Senators gave reports, the meeting was closed and the Senate deliberated on where the money would go.
Organizations petitioning for more funding included United for Israel, Isms (the DU art club), the DU Theatre Ensemble, the Hawaii Club, DU Francoscope (the DU French Club), the Science Club, the Lamont School of Music Performance Committee, the Spanish Club, the International Student Organization and the Black Student Alliance.
While nine of the 11 organizations added to their original funding requests submitted last week, Isms and ISO did not get their budget applications in on time and were petitioning for the first time. Every organization that appealed received funding.
During the deliberation over funds, the senators looked at different factors.
