Limp Bizkit’s new album Results May Vary was recently released and is void of anything of any substance. It is apparent that the band may be on its last leg rather than a new beginning.
Since their last album Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog Flavored Water three years ago the band has weathered some rough times. The most difficult being the loss of their lead guitarist Wes Borland. The reason for his departure was credited to “creative differences.” Prior to Borland leaving it was speculated that he was the only talent in the band. The release of this album seems to confirm that. Borland was replaced by former Snot guitarist Mike Smith who lays down some respectable riffs on the album.
The results of this album may vary on this album from bad to worse. The music is similar to what they have produced before, but lacks enthusiasm. The songs all blur together into one long painful cacophony of scattered noise. Repetitive and boring are the two best words to summarize the sound. The lyrics are pathetic at best. Durst drones on about a number of issues that are uninteresting from being picked on as a child to his views of sex on the first date. Majority of the rhymes sound like something that could be composed by a freshman in high school, who is dealing with issues with his peers and parents, keep in mind Durst is 31 now. Even the most dedicated Limp Bizkit fans will be disappointed by this sub par album.
Terry Date and Durst produced majority of the tracks on the album, Durst produced seven tracks on his own. The album also features special guest appearances from Snoop Dogg and Brian Welch from Korn, neither of which seemed to add too much to the album. This is definitely one album you will want to pass on.
