I remember the old saying, “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.” Those exact words come to mind when I listened to Mark Ronson’s debut album Here Comes The Fuzz. He has surrounded himself with so many name artists that you hardly notice that his own sounds aren’t anything special. How many skinny white boys do we have to listen to. Just because Eminem hit it big doesn’t mean you can do it too. There’s a little something called talent, and if someone is going to know if you got it or now, they have to actually be able to distinguish you from all of your glitz and glimmer. If you just want to distract us from with some quality mixes and artist pairings, do that…just don’t label it as your music.
