It is not surprising that DU’s memorial plans for 9/11 were lacking. Both in administrative and student body viewpoints, DU is dissapointingly apathetic in almost all issues. Granted, a collegiate campus is by nature cut off from the world to a certain extent. However, what kind of university is it that can’t even raise a flag to half-staff on 9/11 (yes, the flag pole outside the Ritchie Center was bare the whole day….including during the evening’s sporting events). Perhaps everyone could take a step back from Daddy’s credit card and A6 and realize that there is a larger world out their, worthy of our concerns and contributions.
