Last week the Denver Art Museum announced that its newest building, already under construction and scheduled to be completed by 2006, will be named after Frederic C. Hamilton, a current board chairman.

Hamilton has served on the Denver Art Museum’s board of trustees for more than 26 years. Recently he donated $20 million to the museum’s endowment, the largest individual gift for cultural benefit in Denver’s history.

With help from the city of Denver taxpayers, fundraising and other donations, the newest addition to the Denver Art Museum will be nothing less than spectacular. Architect Daniel Libeskind will be the mastermind behind the 146,000-square- foot project.

The donations, which have exceeded the museum’s expectations, will go towardsgallery installations, education, technology, landscaping and more aspects that should make this museum a popular destination for travelers.

This new available space will provide permanent collections including modern, contemporary, African, Oceanic and Western art, with a new and pristine place to call home.

With such a dedicated and collaborated effort from the City of Denver and The Denver Art Museum, this addition will should add flavor to an urban culture on the upswing. For information, visit the Web site at www.denverartmuseum.org.
