AGD holds haunted house
Alpha Gamma Delta will hold a haunted house for children at their sorority house Thursday evening. AGD will hold the event in coordination with the International House, who will be hosting a carnival, Dana Lolley, philanthropy chair of AGD, said. Beta Theta Pi was originally scheduled to co-host the haunted house with AGD but were unable to do so because of financial reasons, Lolley said. The haunted house is open to the public and will also include trick-or-treating and other activities. The sorority expects children from local elementary schools and the University of Denver High School students to attend the event. Traditionally, children of all ages come to the house to trick-or-treat. The sorority will have age appropriate activities for the younger children. Games will include Mystery Boxes. The older children will go through a haunted house. For more information about the haunted house contact Andra Arnold, president of AGD, at aarnold4@du.edu.

Beta Alpha Psi, the University of Denver’s accounting fraternity, will volunteer for Children’s Museum of Denver’s Trick-or-Treat Street Thursday for Halloween. The members of BAP will help guide the children through the museum as they trick-or-treat, Jenny Gross, president of BAP, said. The group participates in Tick-or-Treat Street every year and helps the museum in several ways during the night.BAP will also volunteer for the Special Olympics Friday for a bowling competition.Gross said BAP would be helping keep score, cheering for the participants, handing out awards or helping the bowlers carry their bowling balls to the lane.BAP also volunteered earlier this month at a pumpkin sale that benefited the Denver Botanical Gardens. The members worked at the pumpkin patch sale at the Chatfield Reservoir by measuring the pumpkins to be sold, Gross said.Stephanie Sanchez, member of BAP, said they worked at the pumpkin patch for four hours and were also given a pumpkin at the end of the day.

We did all kinds of groovy things.”The fraternity stayed at Colorado State University’s cabin for the night and played Catch Phrase and Trivial Pursuit while some members went on a midnight hike.Sanchez said, “It was the best thing I’ve done at the University of Denver since I’ve been here, as far as an organized group.
