April 8

7:25 a.m., a Campus Safety officer reported graffiti on the brick walkway outside the Daniels College of Business. Facilities Management was notified.

1:45 p.m., a DU staff member reported that unknown person(s) vandalized an ethnic poster at Driscoll North. Campus Safety’s investigation ongoing.

2:44 p.m., a DU student reported that unknown person(s) stole his unsecured bicycle from the 2300 block of South University Boulevard. Campus Safety responded and completed the investigation. The student filed a report with the Denver Police Department prior to notifying Campus Safety.

5:56 p.m., a Campus Safety officer reported that a dog was unattended and tied to a light pole outside the Lowell Thomas Law Building. The investigation revealed the dog belonged to a DU student attending class inside the Lowell Thomas Building. Campus Safety contacted the student and had him remove the dog.

April 9

11:44 a.m., a fire alarm was activated at Mason Hall. Campus Safety and the Denver Fire Department responded. The investigation revealed that steam from a pipe caused the alarm. Facilities Management was notified.

4 p.m., a DU student reported that on or around Feb. 7, unknown person(s) stole her unattended coat from the Daniels College of Business. The student made the report for insurance purposes. Campus Safety advised the student to file a report with the Denver Police Department.

12:32 p.m., a DU student reported that unknown person(s) stole her parking permit from her unsecured vehicle while parked in Lot 246, east of Porter Hall. Parking Services was notified.

April 10

3 p.m., a DU student reported that unknown person(s) stole his secured bicycle from in front of his residence in the 1900 block of South Josephine Street. Campus Safety completed the investigation and advised the student to file a report with the Denver Police Department.

4:28 p.m., a DU staff member reported that she lost a set of DU keys at the Mary Reed Building. Campus Safety responded and completed the investigation. Facilities Management notified.

2:45 p.m., a fire alarm was activated at Curtis Hall. Campus Safety and the Denver Fire Department responded. The investigation revealed a DU student accidentally set a pizza box on fire. There was no damage or injuries.

8:30 p.m., a Sodexho staff member reported that an unidentified adult male attempted to steal items from an unsecured storage area at Centennial Towers. Campus Safety’s investigation is ongoing.

6:39 p.m., a fire alarm was activated at Huchingson Hall. Campus Safety and the Denver Fire Department responded. The investigation revealed that the alarm was caused by an unknown system malfunction.

11:28 p.m., a DU student reported loud noise coming from a residence at Curtis Hall. Campus Safety responded, contacted the occupants of the residence and advised them to keep down the noise. The occupants compliedwithout complaint.

April 11

9:22 a.m., a fire alarm was activated at the Ricks Center. Campus Safety and the Denver Fire Department responded. The investigation revealed that the alarm was caused by a portable popcorn maker operating in a poorly ventilated area. The popcorn maker was moved outside to prevent the alarm from tripping again.

12:27 a.m., a DU staff member reported that an unaffiliated adult male was attempting to gain access to Foote Hall so he could sleep. Campus Safety and the Denver Fire Department responded. The male was advised by Campus Safety to leave campus and he left without incident.

April 12

2:45 a.m., an unidentified caller reported a suspicious adult male throwing rocks at windows University Apartments. Campus Safety responded, contacted the male and advised him to leave the premises. The unaffiliated male left without incident.

4:50 a.m., a graduate advisor reported a DU student intoxicated and sleeping in a bathroom at Johnson-McFarlane hall. Campus Safety responded, contacted the student and advised him to return to his residence at Centennial Halls.

4:38 p.m., a DU staff member reported there was an adult male throwing bricks through a window at the Kappa Sigma Fraternity House. Campus Safety responded and identified several students as suspects. Campus Safety’s investigation is ongoing.

April 13

4:55 p.m., a Campus Safety officer reported that a DU student struck a parked and occupied vehicle while operating a DU vehicle in Lot 312, north of Centennial Halls. There were no injuries. Campus Safety Management was notified.

3:45 a.m., a Campus Safety officer reported that unknown person(s) vandalized a DU facilities vehicle at Centennial Halls. Facilities Management notified.

April 14

12:01 a.m., a DU student reported that an unaffiliated adult male threatened her by telephone at Centennial Towers. Campus Safety respondedto the call and detained the adult male for the Denver Police Department. Denver Police Department responded and arrested the male.

3:19 a.m., a fire alarm was activated at Skyline Hall. Campus Safety and the Denver Fire Department responded. The investigation revealed unknown person(s) activated a pull station tripping the alarm.

2:45 p.m., a DU student reported that unknown person(s) stole the fraternity’s Coat of Arms from the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity House. Campus Safety responded and advised the student to file a report with the Denver Police Department. The Coat of Arms was later recovered at the rear of the house. Campus Safety’s investigation is ongoing.

9:30 p.m., an unaffiliated adult male reported that an unidentified vehicle struck his parked and unattended vehicle while parked in the 1800 block of South High Street. Campus Safety responded, completed the investigation and advised the male to file a report with the Denver Police Department.
