The Pioneer ID office is preparing to recard the campus.

The plan is to change everyone’s ID number from their social security number to a randomly selected one.

This is being done as a safety precaution and as a result of a changed computer system.

This does not apply to freshmen because their cards are already on the new number system. Non-freshmen students living in the dorms need to switch their cards by March 13.

For other students living off campus, the switch will be done prior to registration next fall.

To get your new card go to the ballroom located in the Driscoll Center on March 6, 7 or 8 from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on March 8.

There will be computer stations so that all students can change their IDs. The change is free.

If these times are not convenient, students should visit the main office downstairs in Driscoll south Monday through Thursday 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Friday 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

There will also be a carding event at the School of Law. The time for that has yet to be announced.

If you have any questions, call system administrator Amber Bradley at x4662.

In other Pioneer card news, students can take their cards and use their flex accounts at these restaurants and shops:

Black Jack Pizza, Peaberry Coffee, Tokyo Joe’s, Tree House Cafe, Kaladi Coffee and Papa Johns.

Students can also ride all RTD buses and light rails for free. A sticker can be obtained in the Pioneer Office.
