University of Denver students know what is happening so it is no surprise that some of them are heading south for spring break to the number one spring break spot in the nation. Florida has five of the top spring break getaway spots because of its overall appeal. Beautiful beaches, great clubs and a chance to get to meet other students from around the world is what draw students to southeastern Florida for the time of their life.
Right at the top of the list of premier spots is Panama City beach. Located on the Florida Panhandle, Panama City has over 27 miles of dazzlingly, white beaches on the Gulf coast. It’s natural beauty, combined with its moderate prices, outrageous nightlife, including Club LaVela, which bills itself as the country’s largest nightclub with 14 different dance floors and 48 separate bars-and more liberal attitudes towards Spring Break activities (they allow kegs on the beach) make it popular among Spring Breakers.
Over half a million students have made it to the Panama City beaches each spring break for the past several years, for this reason MTV has included Panama City as home for its official coverage of Spring Break.
Other places in Florida include Daytona beach, which is another popular site to visit because of its proximity to other attractions. Located on the Atlantic coast, Daytona has over 23 miles of beach and has activities for everyone. This year’s special spring break activities include great concerts, cool giveaways and fun contests. In addition to the recreational activities at the beach, other attractions like the Kennedy Space Center, Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios, DaytonaUSA and the Daytona International Speedway are within easy driving distance.
Orlando and South Beach in Miami Beach are two other popular destinations for people heading down to Florida. The theme parks and other attractions offered in Orlando, plus it being a big city, make it a different type of fun for people visiting.
The cost for a roundtrip ticket to Florida from Denver is around $600. A vacation to Florida, if budgeted correctly, could run around $1,100. The fun that students have at places like these, the memories that are made and the people that students meet are what make spring break vacations all the more exciting. If you are thinking about getting away, get it togeter and head to Florida.
