On Nov. 1, thousands of fans came dressed in sparkles, heels, wigs and costumes to support famed pop star Sabrina Carpenter.

The Ball Arena, located in downtown Denver, was completely sold out. All 21,000 seats were filled with loud and adoring fans.

The show began at 7 p.m. with Carpenter’s opener, Declan Mckenna.

Declan Mckenna is a well-known indie artist, averaging around 7,702,457 monthly listeners according to Spotify. This was Mckenna’s first night opening for Carpenter, so his energy was infectious.

The arena burst into ear-splitting cheers when Mckenna played his most popular song, “Brazil.”

The opener played until 8 p.m., upon which Mckenna swiftly exited in preparation for Carpenter to come on.

Sabrina Carpenter promptly started the concert at 8:30 p.m.

To start, the pop star walked to the end of the stage wrapped in a towel.

Every show, the towel covers a different colored corset, so the fans’ anticipation was palpable for what Carpenter’s corset color would be.

Upon dropping the towel, the color for the show was silver and the crowd erupted into screams. However, some fans thought the corset was baby blue.

Tuning out the audience’s cheers, Carpenter went straight into performing the opening song, “Taste.”

The stage resembled a house, with a grand spiral staircase, a bathroom on the top left, a living room on the bottom left and a bedroom on the bottom right.

Carpenter took advantage of the set design, often singing a song in one room only and running up and down the stairs.

Considering Carpenter’s history in acting and on Broadway, the concert felt more like a musical.

Later on in the show, Carpenter did another show-specific bit where she played ‘spin-the-bottle’ to pick a song to sing. There were four options for Carpenter to sing: “Mamma Mia” by ABBA, “Material Girl” by Madonna, “9-5” by Dolly Parton, and “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None The Richer. The bottle landed on “Mamma Mia,” and the crowd exploded into cheers.

After the surprise song, Carpenter played three more songs: “Please, Please, Please”, “Don’t Smile” and “Espresso,” before exiting the stage.

Upon the concert’s end, Carpenter played a goodbye video to wish her fans a safe ride home.

With the extravagantly dressed fans, infectious energy and Sabrina Carpenter’s stunning vocals, the concert was certainly one to remember.
