Medical

On Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 9:50 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call made from Centennial Halls regarding a student in need of medical attention. Officers responded to the scene, called paramedics and provided assistance until the student was transported to Swedish Hospital by paramedics.

Traffic

On Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 4:13 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a student regarding a single vehicle collision in parking lot 304. Upon arrival, the officer observed an empty vehicle that was resting against a curb near Ben Cherrington. The reporting party and a witness stated that they had seen the vehicle roll out of a parking spot, strike a retaining wall and run over a flower bed before it came to a stop. The owner of the vehicle in question, a staff member, arrived on the scene moments after Campus Safety.

On Friday, Oct. 7, at 12:11 p.m., Campus Safety took a report from a staff member regarding a vehicular collision in parking lot 103. The staff member reported that the university owned vehicle they were operating had been struck by another vehicle which was owned by a student. Both vehicles had minor damage. Neither party reported injuries.

Theft

On Friday, Oct. 7, at 1:19 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from the Driscoll Student Center regarding a shoplifter in the bookstore. Upon arrival on the scene, officers spoke with the shoplifter, formally trespassed them from campus and contacted the Denver Police Department (DPD) for assistance. DPD arrived on the scene and issued the shoplifter a summons.

On Friday, Oct. 7, at 4:52 p.m., Campus Safety took a statement from a student who came to the Campus Safety Center to report that their bicycle had been stolen from a bike rack located near the Ridgeline Apartment Building.

On Sunday, Oct. 9, at 1:56 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a student in Centennial Towers regarding a stolen pillow. The student reported that one student and one unaffiliated person had taken the pillow and fled the scene. While speaking with the reporting student, Campus Safety observed the two suspects returning to the building and stopped them for questioning. The suspects admitted  they had taken the pillow and were both intoxicated.

Drugs and alcohol

On Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 12:20 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call made from Centennial Towers regarding the odor of marijuana emanating from a student’s room. Upon arrival, officers confirmed the odor of marijuana. No drugs or alcohol were found in the room.

 

On Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 1:32 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a staff member regarding an unaffiliated party who was intoxicated and acting in an irate manner near the Daniels College of Business. Upon arrival, officers confirmed that the person was intoxicated. An on-scene investigation revealed that the party had been previously trespassed from campus. Campus Safety called DPD who cited the person in question and transported them to Denver Cares.

On Friday, Oct. 7, at 9:23 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call which was made from Centennial Halls regarding an intoxicated student in the building. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the student in question who was visibly intoxicated and using racial slurs. The officers on scene contacted Denver Cares to transport the student to their facility.

On Sunday, Oct. 9, at 1:33 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call which was made from Johnson-McFarlane Hall regarding an intoxicated student in the building. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the student in question. Paramedics evaluated the student and contacted the DPD to issue a citation to the student.

On Sunday, Oct. 9, at 1:51 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call which was made from Centennial Halls regarding a student who was vomiting in a restroom. DPD and Campus Safety both spoke with the student, determined that they were too intoxicated to remain on campus and DPD transported the student to Denver Cares.

On Sunday, Oct. 9, at 3:39 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call which was made from Nagel Hall regarding an intoxicated, unconscious student in the building. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the student in question who was conscious but injured and extremely intoxicated. Paramedics transported the student to Swedish Hospital.

Violence

On Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 6:42 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a Coors Fitness Center member who claimed they were assaulted by a staff member. Officers arrived on the scene and interviewed the fitness center member in question. The staff member was unavailable for an interview.

On Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 10:14 p.m., Campus Safety observed an unknown party standing on a wall near Boettcher Auditorium with an open container of alcohol in their hand. When the officer approached the party in question, the party struck the officer in the chest with a closed fist and fled the scene. The officer reported no injuries. Campus Safety filed an additional report with the DPD.
