Medical

On Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 3:08 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call made from the Sturm College of Law regarding a student in need of medical assistance. Officers responded to the scene and called for paramedic assistance. The Denver Fire Department arrived on the scene and provided assistance until Denver Health paramedics arrived and transported the student to Porter Hospital.

On Thursday, Nov. 3, at 6:14 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call made from Centennial Halls regarding a Sodexo staff member in need of medical assistance. The reporting party noted paramedics were already en route. Officers arrived on the scene and provided assistance until paramedics transported the Sodexo staff member to Porter Hospital.

On Saturday, Nov. 5, at 3:13 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call made from the Fritz Knoebel School of Hospitality Management regarding an unaffiliated person in need of medical assistance. Officers responded to the scene and provided assistance until paramedics arrived. The unaffiliated person was transported off campus by family members.

On Sunday, Nov. 6, at 8:38 p.m., Campus Safety responded to the Barton Lacrosse Field due to a 911 call made from the area. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a student who was in need of medical assistance. Officers spoke briefly to the student before paramedics arrived and transported them to Swedish Medical Center.

Theft

On Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 4:47 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a student who reported their vehicle had been broken into while parked in lot “C” between 7:55 a.m. and 4:35 p.m. Once inside the vehicle, Campus Safety noted the stereo had been stolen and someone had attempted to start the vehicle in order to steal it. A tow truck was called for the victim and the victim was advised to file an additional report with the Denver Police Department (DPD).

On Friday, Nov. 4, at 3:01 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a student in the Driscoll Student Center regarding a stolen cell phone. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the student who said the phone had been turned into the Driscoll Center lost and found on Nov. 3. When the rightful owner of the phone (also a DU student) came to retrieve it from the lost and found on Nov. 4, it was gone.

Lost and Found

On Saturday, Nov. 5, at 4:56 p.m., while on routine patrol, a Campus Safety officer was stopped by a community member in Sturm Hall who wished to turn in a wallet that they had found in a hallway on campus. The officer examined the contents of the wallet and determined that it belonged to a student.

On Sunday, Nov. 6, at 11:59 p.m., while on routine patrol in the Sturm College of Law, a Campus Safety officer was handed a wallet that had been found in the building. The officer examined the contents of the wallet and determined that it belonged to a student.

Drugs and alcohol

On Thursday, Nov. 3, at 3:52 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a staff member who reported that they heard yelling in parking lot 302. Officers responded to the scene and found a student who was yelling, highly intoxicated and lying on the ground. The student was unable to provide  identification so officers called for assistance from the DPD. DPD arrived on the scene, assisted with identifying the student and called for paramedics who transported the student to Porter Hospital.
