On Tuesday, March 29, at 4:36 p.m., Campus Safety responded to Centennial Halls on a call from Housing and Residential Education staff regarding an injured student. Upon arrival, the student was treating the injury and was later transported to Porter Hospital by a friend.
Traffic
On Thursday, March 31, at 5:33 p.m., a Campus Safety parking enforcement officer responded to the “L” parking structure on the report of a vehicle accident. A staff member reported that, while attempting to exit the structure, they accidently struck a parked vehicle with their vehicle. There were no injuries. The owner of the parked vehicle was contacted and information was exchanged.
On Thursday, March 31, at 10 p.m., a Campus Safety parking enforcement officer responded to the “L” parking structure on the report of damage to a vehicle. A student reported that sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 9:45 p.m. someone damaged their vehicle while it was parked and unattended in the lot.
On Friday, April 1, at 6:53 a.m., a Campus Safety officer observed an unaffiliated person sleeping in a vehicle in parking lot 103. The officer contacted the person who reported that they had been at a function in the Cable Center the night before and decided to sleep in their car rather than drive home. Denver Police were called to the scene and contacted, questioned and released the individual in question.
Theft
On Monday, March 28, at 7:20 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from the bookstore regarding a student being detained for shoplifting by Loss Prevention personnel. The student received a summons from the Denver Police Department.
On Thursday, March 31, at 9:44 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from the bookstore regarding a student being detained for shoplifting. The Denver Police Department was requested, responded to the scene and issued the student a summons for shoplifting.
On Thursday, March 31, at 2:05 p.m., a Sodexho employee reported that person(s) unknown stole cash from their unsecured and unattended locker in Centennial Halls. The theft reportedly occurred sometime between 7 a.m., and noon that day.
On Friday, April 1, at 2:24 p.m., Campus Safety took a report from a staff member regarding damage to a university owned vehicle. The staff member reported that they left the vehicle parked in the circular driveway between Nelson and Nagel halls at approximately 1:30 p.m. that day. When they returned to the vehicle at approximately 2:20 p.m., on the same day, they noted a dent on the left rear side of the vehicle.
On Friday, April 1, at 10:03 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from Centennial Halls regarding clothing that was stolen from a laundry room. Upon arrival, a Campus Safety officer spoke with a student who reported that their unattended clothing had been stolen from a dryer sometime between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m.
Facilities
On Thursday, March 31, at 6:41 a.m., a staff member reported a water leak in the photography lab at the Shwayder Art Building. Campus Safety officers shut off a running sink and notified Facilities Management for clean up and repair.
On Friday, April 1, at 10:28 a.m., Campus Safety took a report from a staff member regarding the unauthorized placement of posters on university property using permanent glue. The staff member reported that the posters would be difficult and costly to remove. Campus Safety noted the contact information on the posters.
Drugs and alcohol
On Thursday, March 31, at 1:11 a.m., Campus Safety contacted an unaffiliated, intoxicated male who had turned over trash cans at the Barton Lacrosse Stadium. Campus Safety officers directed the male to pick up the trash and waste bins. Denver Cares was also contacted and the male was transported to a detox facility.
On Friday, April 1, at 1:20 p.m., a Campus Safety officer contacted an intoxicated student urinating in public near the Leo Block Alumni Center. The Denver Police Department was requested, responded and transported the student to the Denver Cares detox facility.
On Thursday, March 31, at 8:39 p.m., Campus Safety and Housing and Residential Education staff responded to the report of the odor of marijuana emanating from a room in Nagel Hall. Drug paraphernalia and alcohol were confiscated from the room.
