On Thursday, Feb. 16, at 11:18 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a faculty member regarding a student who was in need of medical attention in Sturm Hall. Officers responded to the scene, evaluated the student in question and called for assistance from paramedics. The student refused transport to a hospital.
Theft
On Friday, Feb. 17 at 10:36 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a staff member regarding the theft of university property from the Chambers Center for the Advancement of Women.
On Friday, Feb. 17 at 10:40 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a staff member regarding the theft of university property from Ruffatto Hall.
On Friday, February 17at 4:47 p.m., Campus Safety took a report from a student regarding a missing/stolen purse in the Daniels College of Business. The student reported that they had last seen their purse at about 3:00 p.m. in the basement level of Daniels. The student was advised to contact the Denver Police Department (DPD) to file an additional theft report if they were unable to recover the wallet.
On Friday, Feb. 17 at 10:37 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a staff member regarding the theft of university property from Centennial Halls.
On Friday on Friday, Feb. 17 at 2:59 p.m., Campus Safety took a report from a Sodexo staff member regarding a theft from Centennial Halls. The staff member relayed they had left their personal belongings, including their cell phone, in an unsecured locker at approximately 6 a.m. that morning. When they returned to the locker at 9 a.m., the phone was gone.
On Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 1:01 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a staff member regarding stolen items in Sturm Hall. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with the staff member who relayed an unknown person has been removing plumbing parts from toilets in the building.
Traffic
On Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 8:42 a.m., a Parking Enforcement Officer (PEO) responded to a call from a staff member regarding a vehicular collision involving a university-owned vehicle near the intersection of East Buchtel Avenue and South Columbine Street. Upon arrival at the scene, the PEO spoke with the staff member and an unaffiliated party who relayed the details of the collision and reported moderate damage to both vehicles. There were no injuries reported.
On Thursday, Feb. 16, at 1:22 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a staff member regarding a hit-and-run collision in parking lot 316. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with the staff member who reported the university-owned vehicle they were driving sustained minor damage sometime between 10 a.m. and 1:13 p.m. while it was parked in the lot.
On Thursday, Feb. 16, at 7:08 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from an alumnus regarding a hit-and-run collision in parking lot L. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the alumnus who relayed their vehicle had sustained moderate damage sometime between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. while it was parked in the lot.
Drugs and alcohol
On Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 1:48 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from Johnson-McFarlane Hall regarding an intoxicated student in the building. Officers arrived at the scene and spoke with the student in question who was visibly intoxicated and in possession of two false identification cards. Officers contacted the Denver Police Department (DPD) who transported the student to Denver Cares.
On Thursday, Feb. 16, at 11:52 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from Housing and Residential Education (HRE) staff regarding two students on the roof of Johnson-McFarlane Hall. Officers responded to the scene and called for assistance from the Denver Fire Department (DFD). DFD arrived on the scene and helped to get the students safely off the roof. Both students admitted to having consumed a small amount of alcohol and one student admitted to being in possession of marijuana. Officers confiscated the marijuana and the students were allowed to return to their rooms.
Harrassment
On Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 1:13 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a student who reported they had been followed and confronted by an unaffiliated person in parking lot 312. Officers responded to the scene and gathered information regarding the suspect. DPD also responded to the scene and took a report of the incident.
Facilities
On Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 11:06 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a staff member in the Ritchie Center regarding damage to university property. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the staff member who relayed an unknown person had shattered a protective glass pane in the Joy Burns Hockey Arena with a hockey puck. Facilities was notified.
