Traffic

On Thursday, Oct. 27, at 5 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a student in parking lot “W” regarding a vehicle that had been broken into. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke to the reporting student, who relayed that while parking their vehicle, they noticed a window had been broken out of the vehicle in question. Officers were able to contact the student owner of the vehicle, who was out of town.

Drugs and alcohol

On Friday, Oct. 28, at 12:21 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call that was made from Johnson-McFarlane Hall regarding the odor of marijuana emanating from a student’s room. Upon arrival at the scene, officers were admitted to the room in question, where they found an Airsoft gun, alcohol, drugs and drug paraphernalia. Officers confiscated all of the items.

On Friday, Oct. 28, at 1:23 p.m., while on routine patrol in Centennial Halls, a Campus Safety officer was made aware of an intoxicated student in the building. Officers made contact with the student, confirmed the student was intoxicated and contacted Denver Cares. Due to a high volume of calls, Denver Cares sent the Denver Police Department (DPD) to transport the student to their facility.

Harassment

On Thursday, Oct. 27, at 11:03 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a female student who reported that, while walking toward the intersection of East Wesley Avenue and South High Street, an unknown male grabbed her and attempted to put his hand up her skirt. The student relayed that she was able to break free from the unknown male’s grasp and the male departed the scene. Assistance from DPD was requested. DPD responded to the scene and took an additional report.

On Friday, Oct. 28, at 2:10 a.m., while on routine patrol, a Campus Safety officer left a university-owned vehicle parked in lot 312. Upon the officers’ return to the vehicle, they discovered that it had been vandalized by an unknown party.

Medical

On Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 11:19 a.m., a Campus Safety officer observed an unaffiliated person in need of medical attention on the south side of the Ricketson Law Building. The officer contacted the person in question, called for paramedics and remained on the scene until paramedics transported the unaffiliated person to Porter Hospital.

Theft

On Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 10:31 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a faculty member in Aspen Hall regarding a stolen laptop. The faculty member relayed that they had last seen their laptop in a classroom in Sturm Hall and that the laptop was university property.

On Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 12:48 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a student at Centennial Halls regarding a stolen bicycle. The student reported that they had left their bicycle, secured only by the front tire, to a rack on the north side of the building. When they came back for their bike, they found that only the tire remained and that the frame of the bike was gone.

On Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 6:29 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a student in Nagel Hall regarding a stolen laptop. The student reported they had left their laptop unattended in the Nagel Hall dining area for a few moments while getting food and when they returned to retrieve the laptop, it was gone. A primary review of surveillance footage in the area revealed that a Sodexo employee had taken the laptop to the Nagel Hall front desk.

On Thursday, Oct. 27, at 12 p.m., Campus Safety took a report from a staff member in the Sturm College of Law regarding a missing iPod. The staff member stated they left the iPod unattended in a locked room and when they returned, the iPod was gone and the door was still locked. The staff member was advised to file an additional report with the DPD
