As we are on the precipice of the most influential election in the history of the United States, American voters are pondering about which will be responsible for pushing Harris or Trump into the White House. Battleground states are where candidates will be spending their time up until Election Day trying to win over certain states. These are the top five states that may be deciding America’s next president.
- North Carolina
In the last two recent elections, Trump has been able to win over the people of North Carolina both times. Between Harris and Trump, this has been a battleground leading up to election day with both holding campaign rallies in this state.
This current election is continuing the red trend with a percentage difference of 1.2% in election polls between him and Harris as of November 3rd. North Carolina in the end will very likely have a majority in favor of Trump.
- Georgia
The wonderful Peach State that turned blue in 2020 for Joe Biden’s election has been historically Republican. Currently, in election polls, it is 1.2% leading for Trump with around one million inactive voters and seven million active. This is one of Harris’s last campaign stops in an effort to turn the state blue.
- Wisconsin
When we think of Wisconsin we think of cheese, but right now I am thinking of the current .8% that Harris is leading by in the election polls. There are about 3.6 million registered voters in the state, and within the last couple of days, the percentage difference in the polls has been getting smaller and smaller. This may lead to Wisconsin being a tiebreaker like Pennsylvania.
- Arizona
Arizona has jumped up from a .6% lead in the polls for Harris to a 1.6% lead for Trump. In the past several elections, Arizona has oscillated between Democratic and Republican candidates like Obama and Trump. With this, Arizona and its 11 electoral college votes may be taken by Trump this year.
- Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania otherwise known as the keystone state, is in a major tug of war with only .1% between Harris and Trump in the election polls. In the last 2 days of this election, Trump is holding a rally in Pennsylvania making this an influential state for him. Trump currently has the lead, but historically Pennsylvania has been a big tiebreaker with 16 electoral college votes for whoever wins this state.
In all the statistics and numbers that have been brought out by each of these states, only the next 24 hours will tell who wins this presidency.
