Lady Denim, a local band from Fort Collins, overtook Lost Lake lounge on Jan 14. flipping Lost Lake’s casual Friday night bar scene into an energy-filled dance room.

As opening band Oh Paris made their way off stage and Lady Denim began preparing for their set, fans began to migrate towards the stage jittery with excitement. Nick Lundeed, lead vocals and rhythm guitarist, beckoned the entire crowd to move closer to the stage, setting up a social environment for the remainder of the show. Shortly after, they kicked off the night with some of their faster-tempoed songs, “Pixie Girl” and “Cherry Limeade” and got the crowd on their feet.

Lady Denim’s charismatic stage presence mesmerized the crowd leaving nothing but smiles on the entire crowd’s faces, especially when they covered “Put Your Records On.” They managed to find the perfect balance between slowing their rhythm down so fans could sway around the room with their friends and picking up the pace so that everyone could rock out.

Lundeed continued to engage and converse with the crowd, even jumping off the stage to join the crowd, giving people a taste of what it feels like to have a spotlight. Miles Jenkins on the drums helped maintain the high energy throughout the performance, while the dynamic brother duo of Chris Lubin on bass and Nic Lubin on guitar illuminated positive energy with their on-stage chemistry. Each member of this band has such an unquestionable belonging to be on stage.

Lady Denim only continued to gain momentum as the crowd continued to immerse themselves into their world, especially during the lyrics of “Pipe Dream,” their top song. During the band’s rendition of  “The Middle,” everyone could not help but clap their hands and dance their hearts out. After they played this epic classic, they claimed their set was over leaving everyone in the crowd wanting more. Every person began chanting “two more songs” which led the band to make their way back onstage.

They finished strong with their groovy story-driven composition, “Ramona.” After the show ended, all the members of Lady Denim joined the crowd in the bar area to socialize and celebrate the extremely successful show. The success they have does not come from a single band member, but the team camaraderie and dynamics Lady Denim showed throughout their performance on stage.

Not only does the band have such an energetic indie-pop sound that has contributed to the growth of their name, but their lively spirits and friendly stage presence draws fans towards them. Lady Denim’s charm on and off the stage will set them apart as they continue to grow in the music scene.
