The Undergraduate Student Government’s (USG) 2021 special election has come to a close. 13 students were elected over this past weekend with the majority being uncontested. This secondary run of voting comes after an initial round that failed to secure enough candidates to fill the senate.

These senators will be the leaders of their class, departments, study abroad and more. Their main duties consist of talking with classmates to gather input on what students want to change and reporting it back to USG. Also, these senators are responsible for hosting events and ensuring their constituents are enjoying their time at DU.

The following students were elected:

  • Maria Roth and Bryanna Reed: Junior Senators
  • Hridith Sudev: Senior Senator
  • Marina Luna: Abroad Senator
  • Victoria Alarcon Macias and Madeline Bohn: On Campus Senators
  • Nicole Choi: Off Campus Senator
  • Jesus Baez: Daniels College of Business Senator
  • Scarlett Remer: Fritz Knoebel School of Hospitality Management Senator
  • Maxwell Smith: Daniel Felix Ritchie School of Engineering & Computer Science Senator
  • Shreya Surendra and John Mann: Natural Sciences & Mathematics Senators
  • Tayler Dale: Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences Senator

These students, as well as those selected from the last election, will make up next year’s USG Senate. Email the USG elections commissioner (John.M.Haddock@du.edu) for more information on USG.
