Junior captain Ian Mitchell has officially signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Chicago Blackhawks. Mitchell leaves a strong career resumé behind him totaling 18 goals, 71 assists and a +41 plus/minus rating in 116 games during his time as a Pioneer. Along with his impressive on-the-ice career, Ian accumulated a long list of awards such as First-Team All-NCHC and AHCA All-American Scholar. He also received two team awards this season: Dr. Ralph Verploeg Most Inspirational Player & Bill Masterton MVP. 

Ian Mitchell was a presence on the ice and became a reliable man for Coach Carle. He will be missed but never forgotten by the Denver faithful. We are excited here at the Clarion for the future of Ian Mitchell in the NHL and wish him the best of luck in his future!
