This past weekend the men’s and no. 18/19 women’s golf teams hosted the Ron Moore Intercollegiate at the par-72 University of Denver Golf Club at Highland Ranch.

For the women’s team, freshman Erika Danielsson (Mellstenintie Espoo, Finland) earned her first-ever collegiate medalist honors. She ended the tournament with a score of 143 (-1) over two days and was the only competitor to finish under par for the tournament. Seniors Alison Armstrong (Tampa, Fla), Mary Weinstein (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) and freshman Anna Zanusso (Castelfranco Veneto, Italy) were the other Pioneers who finished all tied at second with a two day score of 144 (E).

For the men’s team, the squad took the team title along with sophomore Jackson Solem (Longmont, Colo.) ending his tournament with co-medal honors. Solem finished with a three-round total of 204 (-9) to capture his first win as a Pioneer. The Pioneers had five other players end up in the top 25 with fourth, ninth, 16th and 21st place finishes.
