DU’s women Ultimate Frisbee team, better known as HYPE, is currently sporting a roster of 20 strong, enthusiastic student-athletes and thought our competitive season runs January to April, we just came back from a very successful preseason tournament. On October 13th, HYPE represented DU at Amateur Hour in Boulder, Colorado. Even though HYPE went into the tournament with a roster of 9 players, only allowing for two subs, compared to our competitor’s roster of 20+, HYPE showed up! We had a blast starting off our season welcoming new players to the sport and culture of Ultimate Frisbee in an extremely engaging way, players ran upwards of 13 miles throughout the tournament, and finished the tournament winning three out of our five games taking 5th out of 8th.
