DU recently announced the speakers who will address the community and the class of 2018 at the commencement ceremonies this spring. There will be a different guest addressing the undergraduate, graduate and Sturm College of Law ceremonies on June 9, June 8 and May 19, respectively.

Addressing the undergraduates will be Grand Junction native and CSU graduate Tim Schultz, who recently served as the President and Executive Director of the Boettcher Foundation. His work focused on citizens of Colorado making a difference, and he had a hand in expanding the Boettcher Scholarship, which has helped students across Colorado pay for college, including seven students in this year’s graduating class.

Carol Tomé will address the graduate students. A DU and Daniels College of Business graduate, she currently serves as Home Depot’s Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Corporate Services. Publications like The Wall Street Journal and Fortune Magazine have recognized her for her success in the business world in recent years.

Finally, Patricio Serna, also a DU alumnus, will deliver an address for the Sturm College of Law ceremony. Since his Juris Doctorate graduation in 1970 as a first-generation student, Serna has served as chief justice on the New Mexico Supreme Court, as a District Court Judge, as President of the New Mexico District Judges Association and as President and Moderator of the National Consortium on Racial and Ethnic Fairness in the Courts.
