Fashion at DU is currently filled with Birkenstocks, button-ups and pastel shorts, but it’s finally starting to cool down outside. As summer is rolling into fall, check out what DU students are wearing on campus.
Name: Ikenna
Year: Sophomore
Major: Hospitality administration
Hometown: Hanover, Maryland
What is she wearing?
Ikenna is wearing a hat from iccstreetwear.com, a top from TopShop, jeans from American Eagle, shoes from Journeys and glasses by Prada from Lenscrafters.
Fashion icons?
“I like Zoey Kravitz’s style, but other than that I really get my style through Tumblr, and I follow a bunch of Instagram accounts. I like streetwear brands. There’s one called UNIF, and one called ADER error I started following. I’ll just click on one photo, and there’s a link to another photo, and another photo. That’s usually how I found like the iccStreetwear hat.”
Where do you shop?
“I love Topshop, love Zara, love H&M. It’s usually those three. I used to shop at Urban Outfitters but I realized their quality was kind of bad. I’ll still like, look around, but I don’t shop there. Oh, and Buffalo Exchange.”
Name: Sheridan
Year: Sophomore
Major: Double major in socio-legal studies and psychology
Hometown: Castle Rock, Colorado
What is he wearing?
Sheridan is wearing a shirt from Zumiez, jeans from Zumiez, a jacket handed down from his mother, shoes from Goodwill and buttons from a combination of Etsy and live concerts (vintage Morrison Hotel button from the 70s).
Fashion icons?
“Jim Morrison, one. Jay Watson, the keyboardist from Tame Impala and also, Nathan Williams from Wavves. Those are my three fashion icons.”
Where do you shop?
“I differ between neo-psychedelia dress and surf rock, so I guess my two stores would be Zumiez and Goodwill. Goodwill sells vintage clothing for a price that’s not abominable.”
