On the afternoon of July 7, a “DU Digest” email was sent out to the DU community explaining that the university’s University Technology Services will be replacing PioneerNet, campus’ current wireless internet system, with a “new, more user-friendly and reliable campuswide wireless networking system.”
The email does not specify what system will be used or when exactly it will be installed, but it does explain that the system will include guest access, and “general and restricted usage for those needing to access services that require a high level of security.”
According to the email, the university will be sending out further emails in regard to this change on campus.
