US Bank recently published a financial scholarship program for current prospective college students, offering $5,000 to five recipients. Applicants are selected at random and are required to submit a brief form of personal and academic information, followed by an interactive learning module about finance. There are eight sections within the module covering topics essential to smart banking and personal financing, ranging from savings and investments, credit scores and reports to options for funding higher education.
The chance to win requires the application to be submitted anytime during the duration of the 2015 contest period, which began March 5 and closes September 17 at 5 p.m. CST. More specifically, high school seniors and undergraduate students enrolled by September 1 at an eligible two to four year college or university are invited to apply. Although it is not necessary to have an active account open at US Bank, the process does require the creation of a user account that asks for email and password, with the option to fill in a first and last name.
Those who qualify are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to obtain a substantial scholarship, while additionally gaining valuable information regarding tips to better handle finances. The modules cover a wide range of topics useful for students just beginning to enter the world of interest rates, mortgages and savings to anyone already adjusted to handling personal income.
