The All Over Beautiful (AOB) Med Spa is something of a secret in the Cherry Creek area. I had never heard of it even though it has been around for two and a half years. The spa is located just a few miles away from campus in the Cherry Creek North shopping area, right across the street from the Cherry Creek Shopping Center.
I arrived in the evening to a friendly welcome from the receptionists, who immediately called out associate Kaeleigh Lannan. She greeted me warmly and welcomed me to the spa. The front reception area was brightly lit with pastel colors and I sat on a comfortable bench to fill out some paperwork before Seabron Pelc, my aesthetician, came to retrieve me.
She led me back through the clean, tidy space to a studio where we sat and discussed my skincare routine and needs. We had talked about doing a chemical peel, but I had learned through a combination of motherly advice and horror stories to be very wary of the term “chemical peel.” I told Seabron about my concerns and skincare needs and she listened understandingly and intently before responding that there was a very gentle treatment that would give my skin a nice, overall glow without any of the “peel” that gives this term negative connotations.
First, she did an overall deep cleanse of my skin and evaluated it. Once my face was fresh and deemed ready for treatment, she applied the peel, followed by some cooling and moisturizing products. Finally, she applied a masque that refreshed my skin alongside a hand massage.
Upon leaving, Seabron gave me a gift package with facial cleanser, scrub and serum to add to my daily regiment. I left the AOB Spa feeling 100 percent more relaxed, happy and pampered than I had in weeks. It was the perfect break from the stress of DU midterms.
Since my experience at AOB Spa, my skin continually feels more refreshed and looks great. The take-home products Seabron generously offered have become favorites in my daily routine and they finished their great customer service with a follow-up call to check on how I was doing.
“We wanted to reach out to the DU community because we thought it would be great for DU students to gain awareness of skincare knowledge, AOB Med Spa and what we have to offer that can help them learn skin care knowledge,” said Duncan.
Lannan and Duncan made a few recommendations for students at DU who might not have had any spa treatments before.
For first timers, Duncan recommends a basic facial or one of the gentler peels, but the two technicians at the spa offer complimentary skin care consultations. “They’re able to come in and sit down and really address what their concerns are and then we can make a recommendation per person,” said Duncan.
“A generic good treatment to start out with—everyone needs a facial for hydration and relaxation. Chemical peels are also a good treatment to start with. It definitely helps exfoliate the dead skin,” said Duncan, who also recommends the spa’s laser hair removal.
The AOB Med Spa Signature Facial takes about 45 minutes and is $69, a Deep Pore Cleansing Treatment Facial takes an hour and costs $89; this treatment is especially for oily and acne-prone skin. Finally, a Reconditioning and Firming Facial is intended to treat dehydrated and environmentally damaged skin, and let’s face it, whose skin isn’t dry in the Colorado winter climate? It also takes an hour and costs $89.
I was incredibly impressed with not only the treatment, but the customer service, facility and overall experience with AOB spa. DU students who are looking for some skin treatment and care education, a refreshment on their daily routine,or just a few hours of escape and relaxation from their busy lives will be fully satisfied with their visit to AOB Spa.
