There’s no application necessary to write for us; all you have to do is show up to one of our weekly meetings, which are held every Monday at 6 p.m. in the Anderson Academic Commons. Can’t make it to a meeting? Send us an email, and we’ll do everything we can to get you published.

How to submit an article:

  • After you complete an article on Google Docs, share it with “duclarioneditor@gmail.com,” “duclarionexecutiveeditor@gmail.com” and the email of your section editor. We will all go through and complete edits by Sunday evening. You must edit your article by Monday before 6 p.m.
  • Make sure you title the Google Doc with the section, date and title. For example (N 10/6: DU COVID Rules).
  • Every article is due Friday, unless there is a sport event over the weekend.
  • All articles are published online Monday evening. Also, articles can be featured in the Community Commons, on our Instagram and in the weekly Pulse email.
  • We use AP Style. We want every Google Doc to be in Times New Roman and size 12. Every paragraph should be 2-5 sentences and not indented. The header should be your title and the line under should say: Name // Clarion Title (like contributing writer, News Editor, etc.).

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR:

The Clarion welcomes Letters to the Editor. Those who submit letters must limit them to 500 words. Some letters may not be published because of space limitations, libelous content or similarity to past submissions. All submissions must be emailed to duclarioneditor@gmail.com on or before the Friday before the Monday you would like the article to be published. All letters will go through an editorial process for clarity, grammar and spelling. Writers will be notified of edits and revised letters will not be published without the author’s consent. The Clarion reserves the right to reject advertising, stories, columns or Letters to the Editor that it deems graphic, obscene or that discriminate on the basis of race, culture, gender or sexual orientation.
