Theft

Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 at 5:26 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding the theft of a purse from the Chambers Center for the Advancement of Women. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with a staff member who stated that they had left their purse unattended and unsecured for approximately 15 minutes and that when they returned to retrieve it, it was gone.

Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013 at 3:38 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding the theft of a laptop from Ben Cherrington Hall. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with a student who stated that they had left the laptop in question inside a cabinet in the building for approximately seven days and that when they returned to retrieve it, they found it was missing.

Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013 at 1:17 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding the theft of a recording device from Shwayder Art Building. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with a staff member who stated that the device had been left in a room where a conference was taking place for the purposes of recording the conference and that when the conference ended, the recorder was missing.

Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013 at 4:11 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding the theft of items from a vehicle in lot U. Upon arrival officers spoke with a student who stated that sometime between 10:45 p.m. on 10/30/13 and 4:10 p.m. on 10/31/13, an unknown person had broken into their vehicle and taken several small items. The student was advised to file an additional report with DPD.

Medical Assist

Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013 at 3:57 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding a student in need of medical assistance near the intersection of South High Street and East Warren Avenue. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with the student who stated that they had hit a pothole while riding their bicycle, causing them to fall. Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the student in question to Swedish Hospital.

Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013 at 10:51 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding a student in need of medical assistance in Johnson McFarlane hall. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with the student in question and called for paramedics. Paramedics treated the student who was allowed to remain on campus.

Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013 at 5:15 p.m. – While on routine patrol, a DCS officer observed the Denver Fire Department (DFD) parked in front of Centennial Halls. Officers contacted DFD personnel who stated that they had responded to a call regarding a student in need of medical attention and that paramedics were en route. The student in question was transported by paramedics to Swedish Medical Center.

Vehicular Collision

Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013 at 4:27 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding a vehicular collision in parking lot 401. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with two unaffiliated parties who stated that they had left their vehicle parked in the lot from approximately 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and that when they returned to retrieve it, they found that it had been damaged.

Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 at 8:06 p.m. – DCS responded to a call from a staff member regarding a vehicular collision near the loading dock of the Newman Center for the Performing Arts. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with the staff member in question who stated that they had backed a university owned vehicle into a dumpster, causing minor damage to both.

Detox

Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013 at 12:23 a.m. – While on routine patrol, a DCS officer observed a student who was intoxicated and had minor injuries near Nelson Hall. Officers contacted the student in question and called for paramedics who transported the student to Porter Hospital.

Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013 at 12:58 a.m. – A DCS officers observed a student who was visibly intoxicated in Nelson Hall. The officer contacted the student in question who stated that they had been drinking and taking prescription medications. Officers contacted paramedics who transported the student in question to Porter Hospital.

Alcohol

Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013 at 2:09 a.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding an intoxicated student in Nagel Hall. Upon arrival at the scene, officers attempted to locate the student in question. However, they were told that the student had fled the scene on foot.

Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at 4:03 a.m. – While on routine patrol, a DCS officer observed a student who was smoking in parking lot C. The officer contacted the student in question to notify them of the smoke-free campus policy. The officer observed that the student (who was not of legal drinking age) was in possession of alcohol, which the officer confiscated and disposed of.

Miscellaneous

Monday, Oct. 28, 2013 at 10:53 a.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding a suspicious party on campus. Officers responded to the scene and contacted the Denver Police Department (DPD) for assistance. The suspicious party was contacted by DPD and DCS and trespassed from campus.

Monday, Oct. 28, 2013 at 6:53 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding a found purse in Centennial Halls. Upon inspection of the purse’s contents for identification, officers found marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Officers were able to identify the owner of the purse as a student. All marijuana and paraphernalia was confiscated and the purse was returned to the student.

Monday, Oct. 28, 2013 at 10:18 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding an unknown party who was looking in to windows at the Delta Gamma Sorority House. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with a student who stated that they saw the unknown party looking in to a window and that when the unknown party realized they had been spotted they fled the scene on foot.

Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 at 12:46 p.m. – While on routine patrol, a DCS officer observed a student on a skateboard who struck and damaged a gate arm in parking lot 401. The officer contacted the student who had not sustained any injury from the incident.
