Vandalism

On Monday, March 25 at 2:46 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call regarding vandalism to a door in Aspen Hall. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found that the door in question had been intentionally kicked in but there were no items missing from the area.

Police Assist

On Wednesday, March 27 at 2:46 p.m., while on routine patrol, officers observed Denver Police Department (DPD) vehicles parked on South York Street. Campus Safety Officers spoke with DPD officers who stated they were arresting a student who was accused of domestic violence against a second student.

Medical Assist

On Wednesday, March 27 at 10:01 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call regarding a student in need of medical assistance in Hilltop Hall. Upon arrival at the scene, officer provided assistance and called for paramedics who transported the student to Porter Hospital.

On Thursday, March 28 at 11:33 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call regarding a student in need of medical assistance in Johnson-McFarlane Hall. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke to witnesses in the area while student in question was attended to by paramedics. Paramedics transported the student to an unknown hospital.

Traffic

On Thursday, March 28 at 1:29 p.m., a Parking Enforcement Officer (PEO) took a report from a staff member regarding a vehicle which was operating at a high rate of speed and illegally passing other vehicles in parking lot E. A cursory review of surveillance footage revealed a suspect.

Ethnic Intimidation

On Thursday, March 28 at 5:54 p.m., Campus Safety took a report from a Housing and Residential Education (HRE) staff member regarding a racially biased incident which had occurred in Centennial Halls on March 7, 2013. The HRE staff member stated an unknown person had loudly yelled a racial slur in a public area of the building, causing distress to students in the area.

Alcohol

On Thursday, March 28 at 11:11 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a noise complaint in Centennial Halls. Upon arrival at the scene, officers reported to the room from which the noise was coming and spoke with four students who were in the room. Officers disposed of the alcohol which was found inside the room.

On Friday, March 29 at 3:33 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call regarding an unconscious student on the lawn near Johnson-McFarlane Hall. Officers arrived at the scene, contacted the student and confirmed their over-intoxication. Officers contacted the Denver Police Department (DPD) who transported the student to Denver Cares.

On Saturday, March 30 at 2:31 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call regarding serveral intoxicated students in Centennial Towers. Upon arrival at the scene, officers contacted four students, two of whom were too intoxicated to remain on campus. Officers contacted DPD who transported both students to Denver Cares.

Intelligence Report

On Friday, March 29 at 10:06 a.m., while on routine patrol, Campus Safety observed two Denver Police Department (DPD) vehicles parked on the east side of Unviersity Hall. Campus Safety officers contacted DPD officers who stated they had received a report of a staff member who was in need of assistance. However, upon arrival at the scene, they determined the report was false.

Fraud

On Friday, March 29 at 11:48 p.m., Campus Safety took a report from a student who was a victim of a possible money laundering scheme. The student stated they also planned to file a report with DPD.

Drugs

On Saturday, March 30 at 11:27 p.m., while on routine patrol, a Campus Safety officer observed four students who were smoking marijuana on the west side of Centennial Halls. The officer contacted the students and confiscated the marijuana.

On Sunday, March 31 at 2:31 a.m., officers responded to a loud in a residential room in Nelson Hall. Upon entering the room, officers contacted three students and found a large amount of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a small knife, a small amount of alcohol and several items stolen from the university. Due to the quantity of marijuana, officers contacted DPD who responded to the scene and confiscated all marijuana and paraphernalia.
