Hit and Run

On Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 2:18 p.m., a Parking Enforcement Officer (PEO) met with an unaffiliated party who wanted to report a hit and run collision in Lot 311. The party stated that while their vehicle was parked in the lot it had sustained moderate damage.

Theft

On Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 2:49 p.m., a Campus Safety Officer (CSO) was approached by a student who wanted to report a theft. The student stated that on Feb. 17 they left their phone and wallet in a cubby at the Coors Fitness Center and when they returned to retrieve the items they were gone.

On Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 8:38 a.m., a Campus Safety Officer (CSO) responded to Ben Cherrington Hall on the report of a theft. Upon arrival, they met with a faculty member who stated items were taken from their unlocked office sometime between noon and 2 p.m.

Drugs

On Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 1:17 a.m., Campus Safety Officers (CSOs) responded to Centennial Halls on the report of an odor of marijuana. Upon arrival, they met with the reporting party and went to the room in question. Three students were in the room and admitted to smoking marijuana. CSOs confiscated the remaining drugs and drug paraphernalia.

On Sunday, Feb. 24 at 10:30 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call regarding the odor of marijuana emanating from a residential room in Centennial Towers. Officers arrived on the scene, confirmed the odor and spoke with three students who all denied use or possession of the drug.

Assault

On Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 11:41 a.m., CSOs responded to Ammi Hyde regarding an unaffiliated party creating a disturbance. Upon arrival, they met with the reporting party who provided a description of the individual and officers were notified the suspect was still in the building. CSOs contacted the party and called the Denver Police Department (DPD) for assistance after the party tried to assault the CSO. The DPD cited the party for assault and took custody of them.

Fire Alarm

On Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 11:02 p.m., CSOs responded to the Zeta Beta Tau House regarding a fire alarm. Upon arrival, they met with a member of the house who stated the alarm was set off due to burnt popcorn.

Property Damage

On Thursday, Feb. 21 at 9:57 a.m., a Campus Safety Officer (CSO) responded to the Ritchie Center regarding  damaged elevators. Upon arrival they met with a staff member who stated the elevators had sustained damage sometime during the last two weeks.

Trespass

On Friday, Feb. 22 at 3:44 a.m., CSOs responded to the Ritchie Center regarding an unaffiliated party sleeping in the concourse. Upon arrival they met with a staff member who directed the CSOs to the location of the party. CSOs contacted the party and determined they were unaffiliated and severely intoxicated. The Denver Police Department (DPD) was called and transported the party to Denver Cares. It was later determined the party had taken items from the building.

Vandalism

On Thursday, Feb. 21 at 11:08 p.m., CSOs responded to Centennial Halls regarding vandalism to the building. Upon arrival, they met with the Resident Assistant who stated an unknown party kicked the west doors shattering the glass.

Forgery

On Saturday, Feb. 23 at 1:48 a.m., while on routine patrol, Campus Safety officers observed a student who was visibly intoxicated near parking lot L. Officers contacted the student, confirmed they were too intoxicated to remain safely on campus and confiscated a false identification card which was in the student’s possession. Officers contacted Denver Cares who transported the student to their facility.

Medical Assist

On Sunday, Feb. 24 at 2:08 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call regarding an injured party in the Ritchie Center. Officers arrived at the scene and spoke briefly with paramedics who stated the unaffiliated party had sustained an injury while using the facilities. Paramedics transported the party in question to Swedish Hospital.
