MEDICAL

On Monday, September 10th, at 6:44 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call regarding a student in need of medical attention in the Ritchie Center. Officers arrived on the scene and spoke briefly to witnesses before paramedics arrived and transported the student to Denver Health.

On Sunday, September 16, at 9:59 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call regarding a student in need of medical assistance. The reporting party noted that paramedics had also been contacted and were in route. When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with the student in question briefly before they were transported to Porter Hospital by paramedics.

Drugs and alcohol

On Monday, September 10th, at 9:11 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call regarding the odor of marijuana emanating from a room in Centennial Towers. Officers responded to the room in question and spoke with three students who all denied using the drug. No marijuana was found in the room, however, a small amount of alcohol was found and discarded.

On Thursday, September 13, at 9:42 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call regarding an intoxicated individual on the southwest lawn of the Shwayder Art Building. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with the individual in question and determined they were unaffiliated and had been trespassed from campus due to a prior incident. The Denver Police Department (DPD) was contacted and the unaffiliated party was transported by DPD to Denver County Jail.

On Friday, September 14, at 10:36 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call regarding an intoxicated student in Johnson-McFarlane Hall. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the student in question and contacted Denver Cares to respond to the scene. The student was transported to Denver Cares.

On Friday, September 14, at 11:06 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call regarding a loud party in Johnson-McFarlane Hall. Upon arrival at the scene, officers contacted eighteen underage students and one underage unaffiliated party who had all been consuming alcohol. Officers disposed of all the alcohol found in the room. The unaffiliated party was trespassed from campus and transported by Denver Cares to their facility.

On Friday, September 14, at 2:12 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call regarding an intoxicated student in Centennial Halls. Officers responded to the scene, spoke with the student in question and determined that due to their high level of intoxication, they needed to be transported to Denver Cares. A DPD officer responded to the scene and transported the student.

On Saturday, September 15, at 1:56 a.m., While on routine patrol, a Campus Safety officer observed an unaffiliated party who was urinating on the Gates Fieldhouse. The officer stopped the unaffiliated party and determined that they were intoxicated. DPD was contacted to respond to the scene. The unaffiliated party was trespassed from campus and sent home in a taxi by DPD.

On Saturday September 15, at 12:33 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call regarding an intoxicated student in Nelson Hall. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with the student in question and contacted Denver Cares to respond to the scene. The student was transported to Denver Cares.

On Sunday, September 16, at 3:56 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call regarding an intoxicated student in Centennial Halls. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with the student in question and called for assistance from paramedics. The student was transported to Porter Hospital by paramedics.

Accidents

On Tuesday, September 11th , at 2:44 a.m.,  Campus Safety responded to a call regarding a vehicular collision in parking lot 304. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with a staff member who stated wet conditions in the lot caused them to lose control of their vehicle and impact a sign. There was moderate damage to both the vehicle and the sign.

On Wednesday, September 12th, at 2:06 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call regarding a slip and fall incident in Sturm Hall. Officers arrived on the scene and spoke with a faculty member who stated they had slipped on what appeared to be a puddle of water and sustained minor injuries; they declined paramedic evaluation.

On Wednesday, September 12th , at 2:32 p.m., While responding to the above incident, officers spoke with a second faculty member who reported they had also slipped on the same puddle and sustained minor injuries. The faculty member declined paramedic evaluation.

miscellaneous

On Monday, September 10th , at 6:41 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call regarding a roommate dispute in Centennial Halls. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with Housing and Residential Education (HRE) staff who stated one of the two residents in question was believed to have weapons in the room. Officers spoke with the student in question who willingly surrendered several weapons typically used in Martial Arts.

On Thursday, September 13, at 1:26 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call regarding the odor of natural gas coming from a laundry room in Centennial Towers. Upon arrival, officers confirmed the smell of gas and called the Denver Fire Department (DFD). DFD responded to the scene and found a small leak and Facilities was notified.
