Medical

On Thursday, May 3, at 12:33 p.m., Campus Safety responded to an outgoing 911 call made from Sturm Hall. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with a DU student in need of medical attention. Officers remained at the scene until paramedics arrived and transported the student to Porter Hospital.

On Thursday, May 3, at 1:31 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a student regarding a second student in need of medical attention near Boettcher Auditorium. Upon arrival at the scene, officers contacted the student in question and called for paramedic assistance. Paramedics transported the student to Porter Hospital for further evaluation.

On Friday, May 4, at 8:30 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a staff member regarding a student in need of medical assistance in Knudson Hall. The reporting party advised dispatchers that paramedics had been contacted as well. Officers arrived on the scene and remained with the student until paramedics arrived and transported the student to Porter Hospital for further care.

Theft

On Thursday, May 3, at 4:19 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a student regarding a theft in Centennial Halls. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with the reporting student who stated they left their shoes unattended in a common area of the building for approximately 20 minutes and when they returned, the shoes were gone.

Drugs and alcohol

On Saturday, May 5, at 12:39 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from DPD regarding a student they had in custody near East Asbury Avenue and South University Boulevard. Upon arrival, Campus Safety spoke with DPD officers who explained the student in question had been taken into custody at an off-campus party due to their high level of intoxication and that they would be cited for underage possession and/or consumption of alcohol. DPD transported the student to Denver Cares.

On Sunday, May 6 at 12:42 a.m., Campus Safety observed a student who was visibly intoxicated on the lawn area southwest of Centennial Halls. Officers contacted the student who stated they did not have any identification. Due to the student’s intoxication level and lack of identification, paramedics and DPD were called to the scene. Paramedics evaluated the student and released them to DPD who transported them to Denver Cares.

On Sunday, May 6 at 3:05 a.m., Campus Safety responded to call from Housing and Residential Education (HRE) staff regarding an unconscious student in Centennial Halls. Officers arrived on the scene and determined the student in question was extremely intoxicated. Due to the student’s unconscious state, officers called for paramedic assistance. Paramedics arrived on the scene and transported the student to Porter Hospital.

Facilities

On Saturday, May 5, at 1:09 a.m., Campus Safety and the Fire Department (DFD) responded to a fire alarm at the Barton Lacrosse Stadium. Upon arrival at the scene, Campus Safety officers provided assistance to DFD who discovered the cause of the alarm was a fire extinguisher which had been discharged in the building by an unknown person.

Trespassing

On Wednesday. May 2, at 1:51 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from Housing and Residential Education (HRE) staff in Centennial Halls regarding a suspicious person in the building. Upon arrival at the scene, officers observed the suspicious person leaving campus and heading north towards the light rail station. Officers called Denver Police Department (DPD) who responded to the scene, spoke with the suspicious person and transported them to Denver Cares. Campus Safety formally trespassed the suspicious person from campus.
