Medical

On Friday, Feb. 3, at 12:18 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a student regarding a second student who was in need of medical attention in Centennial Halls. Officers contacted the student in question, who declined medical attention and stated that a friend would take them to Porter Hospital.

Traffic

On Wednesday, Feb. 1,  at 11:23 a.m., a Parking Enforcement Officer (PEO) responded to a call from a  staff member regarding a vehicular collision in parking Lot C. Upon arrival, the PEO spoke with the staff member, who stated that while operating a university-owned vehicle they struck a bollard near the entrance to the lot, causing minor damage to the vehicle. There were no injuries reported.

On Wednesday, Feb. 1,  at 1:24 p.m. Campus Safety responded to a call from a  staff member regarding a hit-and-run accident which occurred near the Custodial Services Building. Upon arriving at the scene, a Campus Safety officer spoke with the staff member, who reported a university-owned vehicle had been damaged, but they were unsure exactly how or when.

On Wednesday, Feb. 1,  at 7:26 p.m. Campus Safety responded to a call from an unaffiliated party who reported their vehicle had been vandalized in parking Lot 403. The unaffiliated person stated they left their vehicle in the lot on a regular basis and they believed the vandalism occurred sometime between Jan. 21 and Jan. 23

Theft

On Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012 at 5:10 p.m., DCS responded to a call from a student regarding a lost or stolen cellular phone. The student reported

that they had forgotten their phone at the Centennial Towers basketball courts for about five minutes earlier in the evening and that when they returned to retrieve the phone, it was gone.

Drugs and alcohol

On Thursday, Feb. 2, at 11:48 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from HRE staff regarding the presence of alcohol in a residential room in Johnson-McFarlane Hall. Officers reported to the room in question and spoke with four students who were in

the room. While speaking with the students, officers confiscated a large amount of alcohol, which was disposed of on the scene.

On Friday, Feb. 3, at 1:51 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from HRE staff regarding an aggressive student near Hilltop Hall. Officers responded to the scene and contacted the student in question, who was extremely intoxicated and uncooperative. Officers contacted DPD for assistance. DPD transported the student to Denver Cares.

On Saturday, Feb. 4, at 7:03 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from an unaffiliated party at the Delta Gamma Sorority House regarding an unwanted male party. Upon arrival, officers contacted a student in the house who stated that they had admitted the male in question to the house when they found him in an intoxicated state the night before. The student went on to explain that other students in the house awoke to find the male party asleep on their couch and called Campus Safety and DPD. DPD arrived on the scene and escorted the unaffiliated male off campus to a nearby apartment.

On Sunday, Feb. 5, at 2:17 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from HRE staff regarding four intoxicated DU students at Johnson-McFarlane Hall. Upon arrival, officers contacted the four DU students in question as well as a fifth student who was found in the area. All five students were in possession of false identification cards. DPD was contacted for assistance. DPD transported two of the five students to Denver Cares and allowed the remaining three students to stay on campus.

On Sunday, Feb. 5, at 2:30 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from HRE staff regarding a marijuana cigarette which had been found in a hallway in Johnson-McFarlane Hall. Officers responded to the scene and took custody of the cigarette.

On Sunday, Feb. 5, at 4:09 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from HRE staff regarding an unaffiliated male party who was under the influence of drugs and alcohol in Centennial Halls. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with two unaffiliated parties who admitted to having consumed alcohol and to not being properly checked in as guests. Officers inspected the room that both unaffiliated parties were staying in and found a large amount of alcohol, which they disposed of. DPD was called to the scene and both parties were escorted off campus.

Harrassment

On Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 4:28 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a student and a staff member wishing to report an off-campus attempted sexual assault.

On Tuesday, Jan. 31,  at 9:45 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a  faculty member regarding an unattended dog near the 2400 Block of South Gaylord Street which had ­­­­­bitten them. Officers arrived on the scene and spoke with the faculty member, who declined medical attention from paramedics. Denver Animal Control was contacted by Campus Safety and made a­­­ware of the situation.
