On Thursday, Feb. 23, at 11 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a contractor at the Penrose Library regarding a work-related injury. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with the contractor who reported one of their employees had been injured when wind knocked over a temporary structure which landed on them. The supervisor relayed to Campus Safety that the employee had been transported off campus by a relative to seek medical attention.

On Friday, Feb. 24, at 3:54 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from an unaffiliated party regarding an injury they had sustained in the Driscoll Student Center. Upon arrival at the scene, officers contacted paramedics who transported the unaffiliated party to Porter Hospital.

Drugs and alcohol

On Saturday, Feb. 25, at 2:45 p.m., While on routine patrol, a Campus Safety officer was contacted by an Argus employee at the Barton Lacrosse Stadium. The Argus employee relayed there was a highly intoxicated student in the stadium. Officers contacted the student, who was being assessed by stadium medical personnel. Due to the student’s high level of intoxication, paramedics were called to the scene where they evaluated the student and transported them to Denver Cares.

On Sunday, Feb. 26, at 3:03 a.m., While on routine patrol, a Campus Safety officer observed an unaffiliated male near the UTS building who appeared to be highly intoxicated. The officer contacted the male, confirmed his level of intoxication and called the Denver Police Department (DPD) and paramedics to the scene for assistance. The male was transported to Denver Health by paramedics.

On Saturday, Feb. 25, at 12:36 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from Housing and Residential Education (HRE) staff regarding a suspicious odor emanating from a residential room. Officers arrived on the scene and contacted four students in the room. Both alcohol and marijuana were found in the room and confiscated.

On Monday, Feb. 27, at 12:19 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from HRE staff regarding a suspicious odor emanating from a residential room in Centennial Towers. Officers responded to the scene and spoke with a student who was in the room in question. The student admitted to having used marijuana off campus and released custody of an empty marijuana container to Campus Safety officers.

On Saturday, Feb. 25, at 11:42 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from an unaffiliated party regarding a fight in progress at the intersection of South York Street and East Asbury Avenue. Officers responded to the scene and contacted two unaffiliated males who were extremely intoxicated and pushing one another. Due to the extremely high intoxiction levels of both males, the DPD and Denver Cares were called to the scene. Both males were formally transported from campus and traken to Denver Cares.

Harrassment

On Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 9:56 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from Housing and Residential Education (HRE) staff regarding an unwanted solicitor in Nelson Hall. Upon arrival at the scene, officers contacted an unaffiliated male who was attempting to solicit to a group of approximately twenty students. The unaffiliated male was formally from campus by Campus Safety. After the unaffiliated male left campus, several students contacted Campus Safety to report the unaffiliated male had been soliciting students for a few days and many students had provided him with money and their personal information

On Thursday, Feb. 23, at 4:36 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a student regarding a physical altercation that was taking place in the Daniels College of Business (DCB). Upon arrival, officers spoke to the reporting party who relayed two students were arguing and pushing one another. Officers were able to contact both of the students in question, who denied there was any physical contact involved in the altercation.
