Tina Fey was pregnant, 30 Rock was on hiatus and the world cried. Finally, after many weeks on leave, the show returns with a splendidly hilarious episode. Tina Fey, still in possession of the post-pregnant glow, is once again Liz Lemon, who now apparently must be on drugs after returning from her break.
Liz Lemon is too happy, no longer caring about placating Tracy, or soothing Jenna’s feelings, and is not fighting with Jack. Jack maintains he knows her the best, but does he really?
Amidst crack addiction theories and tampon-commercial quotes, Liz’s activities during her break remain a mystery to the audience.
Kenneth, convinced of an imminent rapture, sets out to do all the things he wishes he had done: dream chores such as getting a Chiquita Banana sticker off the ceiling.
Jenna finds her stardom through being the incredibly untactful judge on a new children’s singing show, telling children they should crawl back inside their mother or that their songs make her want to commit suicide.
In a week of television where I was tempted to temporarily rename this article “The Hulu Miss List,” 30 Rock was a shining star in a deep dark sea of some seriously lacking television episodes.
Whether you have been looking forward to getting back to 30 Rockefeller Plaza, or simply find yourself without a decent show to watch – turn off Keeping Up With the Kardashians and turn on 30 Rock.
