D Bar Desserts, located at 1475 E. 17th Ave. in uptown Denver looks like something out of a magazine.

D Bar’s floor-length windows reveal a dimly lit, elegant and simply decorated pastry shop and restaurant – it is a bakery by day a dessert and wine mecca by night.

Baby blue walls and chocolate brown décor make this restaurant a palace of visual and tasteful delights. The atmosphere of the D Bar is relaxed and hip.

D Bar exhibits a full menu of entrees and desserts, as well as an array of special sweet drinks, a full bar and an extensive wine list.

While D Bar is known for its desserts, it is also famous for their sliders, crüe fries and pizza salad sandwich, all elegant and delicious offering.

Beware, though, the dessert portions at D Bar are no small feat.

If you order dinner and plan on ordering dessert, too, not only will your wallet be aching, but you may have to waddle back to your car.

D Bar was opened in May of 2008 by Food Network Challenge host Keegan Gerhard and Lisa Bailey.

Both chefs have received numerous awards for their skills in the pastry arts over the past 10 years.

The chefs are not the only ones that make this place magical. The staff members are friendly, efficient and helpful.

They are also patient, which is a rare quality in such a small space, where tables are limited, and there is indeed a line.

Feel no rush, though, for D Bar is all about the experience.

Delicious desserts abound at the D Bar. The Cake and Sheke is always a popular choice.

Another tasty option is a Bruce Bogtrotter slice of chocolate cake with a delicate milkshake to wash it down.

The options are endless, with Nutella-filled beignets, churros served with rum and coke ice cream and D Bar’s famous crème brulee. Don’t forget the amazing soufflé, either.

It is the decision that may be the most unpleasant part of your experience.

Every dessert is scrumptious and perfect, but the presentation is truly beautiful.

It is obvious that D Bar takes great pride in its food as well as its inviting atmosphere and attitude.

The prices of desserts and entrees range from $7-15, perfect for special occasions, dates or just a night out of the DU sphere.

Indulge your sweet tooth and let D Bar treat you to a delicious experience.

This fashionable little place attracts hundreds of customers a day, so plan on waiting for a bit.

D Bar doesn’t take reservations. This shouldn’t be a concern, however, as the wait is warm, friendly and enjoyable.

D Bar is open 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday and Monday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday to  Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
