Over the past two weeks The X-Factor has given us everlasting entertainment during the live shows. The tension among the judges is heating up, and weather it is an act or reality, just watching them provides many laughs.

With live shows underway, the acts’ performances are more fierce then ever. With it being the first time that the public have the power to save their favorite act, impressing not only the judges, but those at home watching, is crucial. For me, it is all about the attitudes. To win, the act must have the “like factor” and some acts remaining just do have it.

During week two of live shows, two out of three of Paula’s groups had the lowest number of votes, leading them into a sing off, with the judges voting off their least favorite act. Tearful Paula, devastated, left “High School Musical”-meets-Glee group InTENsity heartbroken when each judge voted it off. The Stereo Hogzz made it through another week after impressing the judges with its survival song.

Of course, during the show we saw L.A. Reid’s act Astro wow judges with his performance – although, once again, he came off cocky, arrogant and annoying. And favorite Rachel Crow sounded weak and disappointing. By the end of the show it was Simon’s act, Melanie, who stole the show, as L.A. told her: “The best really was saved till the last!”

With each mentor having all their acts apart from Paula who is down to two acts, the mentors and judges had to do nothing but impress for the third week of live shows.

This week’s show was movie themed, with acts performing songs from successful films. It was an exciting week, as acts sang well-known songs the public could also sing along with.

Opening the show was Stacey Francis, Nicole’s whining, one-trick-pony act. Stacey frustrated L.A. when she chose to sing ” Queen of the Night” from “The Bodyguard” instead of Whitney Houston’s top hit “I Will Always Love You.” Regardless, Stacey is no Whitney, so she really should not have sung either. Stacey rattled the judges with her wardrobe choice, too – a bright red, figure-hugging PVC dress. It was awful.

Fashion seemed to be the hot topic of the night, with both Marcus and Drew being criticized for the way they dressed – Simon informed Marcus not to take fashion advice from L.A., and Paula told Drew not to take fashion advice from Simon. But it was Simon with the last laugh, since he corrected Paula that Drew actually designed her dress herself. Awkward.

Golden oldie, LeRoy Bell took the focus off fashion with an outstanding performance of U2’s “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For,” and Josh stunned judges with his performance of “With a Little Help from My Friends” by Joe Crocker. Astro was as annoying as ever but pleased the crowd with his version of “Lose Yourself” by Eminem. Once again it was Paula’s groups that failed to impress, leaving them in the bottom two again.

For the second week running, The Stereo Hogzz were in the bottom two – this time against girl band Lakoda Rain. In a powerful and emotional sing off, L.A. and Nicole voted off the boys of The Stereo Hoggz, leaving a very tearful hurt Paula to make a decision. The Stereo Hogzz received four votes by the judges, including Paula, and had to leave the show.

Simon, L.A. and Nicole stay strong with all their acts remaining as poor Paula is seeing hers go one by one. Lets hope she has better luck next week.
