With a full plate of homework, reading and activities, finding a place to go for dinner can be a nightly challenge. ZaZa’s is a new pizza place just around the corner, located on University Boulevard, between Thai Basil and Greeks Gone Wild, and is a tasty and convenient option for those who have already bitten off more than they can chew.
There is more to this restaurant’s atmosphere than meets the eye. Although only a small “ZaZa’s” sign denotes the venue, once you step inside the unique Italian atmosphere, you are swept away by its vibe. ZaZa’s is a clean, calm, typical college hangout. The brick walls and dark wood accented with red chairs and tiles heightens the ambiance.
ZaZa’s opened on Oct. 20, after the space had been vacated by previous pizza restaurant Fuhgidabowdit Pizzeria almost a year earlier, on Oct. 31, 2010.
Although ZaZa’s is a new business, the chefs have been preparing pizza for years with their own distinguished style. ZaZa’s chef is an Italian native from Venice who has spent much of his adult life mastering the fine art of creating hand-made pizzas with an authentic zesty sauce. His four-star restaurant experience ensures consistency and quality with every hand-crafted pizza.
The fresh and tasty menu includes calzones, BBQ Chicken, sandwiches, salads, garlic bread, gourmet pasta dishes, desserts and more. ZaZa’s menu also features a pizza called Za’ Kitchen Sink, which has more toppings than your dorm kitchen sink can handle. In addition, you can create your own 16-inch pizza or slice with over 15 toppings to choose from.
ZaZa’s has a lot of new improvements on the way. Their delivery service will begin next month. At the moment, they are accepting phone orders for pick-up. Their speed for making pizza is impeccable, especially since they make it fresh in front of you. You’ll only have about a 10-15 minute wait on average. Despite the cost, their food is nothing less than excellent.
