While most of us on campus loved Garbanzo, it has been succeded by Thai Basil.

This new, stylish and comfortable eatery on University Boulevard serves up your favorites behind its contemporary glass kitchen walls.

The atmosphere of the new restaurant is accompanied by the left-over green décor, along with additional orchids and hanging paperm âché fish lanterns.

The staff welcomes you to a full lunch and dinner menu, with vegetarian options as well as classic seafood, poultry, meats, noodles and curries. The large menu offers a great selection with affordable pricing for students. Entrees range anywhere from $6 to $14 on average.

However, the menu, which is placed adjacent to the front door, is inconvenient because you must block the entrance just to read it, if you even noticce it upon entering. But have no fear: only about eight featured specials hanging above the ordering station.

Without having the menu front and center while you order it is hard to grasp all Thai Basil has to offer.

Thai Basil offers entrées such as Thai Pineapple Curry ($8), Vietnamese Rice Noodles Bowls with a choice of chicken, beef, pork, tofu or shrimp ($7) or even a Sriracha Beef dish ($9) you may find after standing at the entrance or grabbing a paper to-go menu from the counter.

Although Thai Basil just opened on Sept. 6, the reviews seem to be increasing with a few weeks under its belt.

Besides just the food, Thai Basil offers timely service and a delivery option for those of you who are stuck studying all night and can’t manage the trip.

Thai Basil is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. throughout the week and 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
