American Idol judge and Bronx-bombshell Jennifer Lopez dropped her latest album LOVE? on May 3, and her anticipated return to the music scene is well worth the wait.

The 41-year-old quadruple-threat has been out of the public eye after giving birth to twins with husband Marc Anthony, yet she is back in a big way with her seventh studio album, offering the infectious dance tunes we all desire just in time for summer.

The album is a star-studded collaboration with names like The-Dream, Tricky Stewart and Lady Gaga. Gaga helped co-write two songs, “Hypnotico” and “Invading My Mind’, electrifying singles that almost force one to get up and dance.

The album is sure to be popular, as proven by the success of “On the Floor,” the album’s hit single featuring Pitbull. The song was released on Feb. 22, and has reached the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.

Although the Grammy-nominated diva recently departed from Epic Records to sign with Island Def Jam, it seems to be working in Lopez’s favor on LOVE?. She seems more comfortable than she did in previous years, and it is clear she wants to make a strong comeback.

J. Lo is still the “Jenny from the Block” we all know and admire, who gave us hits like “Waiting for Tonight,” and her breakthrough acting performance as Selena in 1997. The singer, actress, dancer and fashion designer definitely knows how to tap into what’s popular, which has given her a devoted fan base worldwide.

The 16-track album, produced by RedOne, is a fresh start for the singer who hasn’t released anything since her lackluster album Brave in 2008 and her latest movie, “The Back Up Plan,” which stalled in theaters last year.

J. Lo sings to a “new generation of party people,” on the album in tracks like the funky “I’m Into You” featuring Lil Wayne, and “Good Hit”-both energetic songs that are sure to get you going at the gym and in the club. A few songs lack the magic held within the rest of the album including “Starting Over,” a cliché love song about being scared of having to start over in a new relationship. “Villain” and “One Love,” are slightly boring tracks about complicated romances.

Lopez shows a more mature, sensitive side on “(What Is) Love?” a soft ballad that allows the artist to strip herself bare from the techno-dance beats that fill rest of the album. J. Lo exposes the pain of past relationships and failed marriages that she has experienced, while singing of holding hope in finding new love.
