A group of business students from DU out-dueled a team from CU to win the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Cup, claiming a $2,500 grand prize.
Dan Tetsell, Chris Lathrop and Jud Whiteneck formed the winning group, which represented the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business.
The event was composed of several teams who had to work on a case study that dealt with topics such as mergers and acquisitions, investment banking and private equity.
It was the second consecutive year that students from DU claimed the ACG Cup, beating out a group from the Boulder Leeds School of Business as well as a squad from Regis University.
CU finished in second place, while Regis placed third.
The sponsors of the event were Minor and Brown and Burns Marketing.
With the win, Denver remains the only school to claim the ACG Cup, which started last year.
Other ACG chapters around the country have held similar events in the past, while the goal of the association remains to get a contestant from each ACG chapter.
