Vandalism
On Monday, Feb. 21, at 12:20 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from Ben Cherrington Hall regarding vandalism. Upon arrival, a Campus Safety officer spoke with a DU staff member who reported that a framed photograph inside of an office had been tampered with and damaged.
Traffic
On Monday, Feb. 21, at 4:59 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from parking lot 314 regarding a hit-and-run traffic accident. An unaffiliated party reported that on Feb. 10, they parked their vehicle in lot 314 while attending an event at the Ritchie Center. Shortly after departing the campus, the unaffiliated person noticed damage to their vehicle which they believe occurred in the lot.
On Thursday, Feb. 24, at 9:51 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from parking lot “N” regarding a hit-and-run accident on the premises. A DU student reported that sometime between 6 p.m. on Feb. 23 and 8 a.m. on Feb. 24, the front bumper of their vehicle was damaged while in the lot.
On Friday, Feb. 25, at 8:53 p.m., while on routine patrol, a Parking Services officer discovered a vehicle, which was displaying an improperly obtained permit.
Harassment
On Wednesday, Feb. 23, at 5:25 p.m., Campus Safety met with a student who came to the Campus Safety Center to report repeated unwanted contact by a former classmate. The student reported that the unaffiliated party has been contacting them since August 2010.
Drugs and alcohol
On Thursday, Feb. 24, at 11:31 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from Nelson Hall regarding a possible disturbance on the roof of the building. Upon arrival, officers were diverted by residence assistants to a student’s room from which there was strong odor of marijuana emanating. Officers entered the room in question and discovered several open containers of alcohol and confirmed the odor. No marijuana or paraphernalia were found in the room and all the alcohol was disposed of.
On Friday, Feb. 25, at 12:23 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from Centennial Halls regarding an odor of marijuana emanating from a student’s room. Officers entered the room and discovered marijuana and drug paraphernalia in plain sight. Officers also noted that one of the students in the room was visibly intoxicated. The student in question was transported by Denver Cares to the center’s facilities for further monitoring. All marijuana and drug paraphernalia was confiscated by Campus Safety.
On Friday, Feb. 25, at 8:53 a.m., while conducting a routine safety inspection in the Kappa Sigma Fraternity House, Campus Safety officers and other DU staff members encountered evidence of the consumption of marijuana. Officials also noted the removal of a smoke detector from the room in which the marijuana evidence was found. Facilities staff members replaced the smoke detector and all marijuana evidence was removed.
Trespassing
On Friday, Feb. 25, at 1:57 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from Craig Hall regarding a suspicious person in the building who was disrupting classes. Officers responded to the scene and contacted the individual. The individual was escorted off campus.
Theft
On Friday, Feb. 25, at 12:47 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from Nagel Hall regarding missing glasses. A Sodexho staff member reported that, sometime between 2 and 3:30 p.m. that day, their glasses were either lost or stolen from the Food Court area.
