Students posed in front of Weller Lake after hiking through fallen Aspen leaves and took in the view from the top of Independence Pass, which is at an altitude of around 12,000 feet. Alpine Club President Jon Jay even gave a thumbs up while carrying his climbing gear.
The trip cost members $40 and included a ride, meals and a variety of activities. Members had the option to hike, climb or bike for two full days. The Alpine Club meets every Wednesday at 8 p.m. in Lindsay Auditorium. For more information or to read about upcoming trips, visit dualpineclub.org.
