While most Easters at home are spent with family and friends at some sort of traditional social and/or religious event, students who aren’t able to make it back for Easter often find that they don’t have an established ritual to participate in for the holiday. Whether you’re looking for an activity to celebrate the holiday, or don’t celebrate Easter and are simply looking for some fun on a Sunday, here are some fun ways to spend the day (April 5).

Bunny Bolt 5k/10k – April 4

For those wanting an athletic alternative to the usual Easter fare, the Bunny Bolt is a perfect way to get some exercise while possibly earning some prizes. The race takes place on the day before Easter (April 4) at 10 a.m. at 1700 N York St., and registration ranges from $35 to $40 depending on whether you are running the 5k or the 10k. The race is also a golden egg hunt, with prizes from Mod Market, Elements Massage, Starbucks, Sports Authority and more. Not only will you be exercising and winning prizes, you’ll be helping raise money for Action for Amyloidosis, a charity that works to help those stricken with this debilitating illness.

Sunrise Service at Red Rocks

A non-denominational service will be hosted at 6 a.m. with doors opening at 4:30 a.m. at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Easter Sunday. For those who usually attend church on Easter, this is a perfect opportunity to continue this tradition while also enjoying the beauty of Colorado. Red Rocks is beautiful at any time of day, but the sunrise will light up the rocks and warm the fresh mountain air for a service unlike any other.
