The Clarion is the official student newspaper at the University of Denver. Founded in 1892, it covers university, local and national news with excellence in design, content and distribution. Published on Tuesdays of the academic year, the DU Clarion boasts a circulation of 1000 and a distribution through 25+ campus newsstands and nearby University Park businesses.Considered the “Voice of the Pioneers,” the Clarion is open to contributors of all years and majors at the University of Denver. The Clarion holds open meetings on Mondays at 6:00 p.m. in Driscoll Underground.The Clarion does not necessarily reflect the opinions of the faculty, the staff and or the administration of DU, and the opinions expressed by the columnists and contributing writers do not necessarily reflect those of the Clarion.
Reproduction of the Clarion, in whole or in part in any form written, broadcast or electronic without written permission of the Clarion is prohibited. The Clarion reserves the right to reject advertising, stories, columns or letters to the editor that it deems graphic, obscene or that discriminate on the basis of race, culture, gender or sexual orientation.
The Clarion welcomes letters to the editor. Those who submit letters must limit them to 350 words. Some letters may not be printed because of space limitations, or because they are similar to a number of letters already received on the same subject or are libelous.
Any photograph that has been substantially altered or staged for use as a graphic will be labelled as a photo illustration. Weather forecasts are courtesy of the National Weather Service.
