Denver volleyball extended their win streak to seven games over the past two weeks, chalking up wins over Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne on Oct. 28, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) on Oct. 29 and Oral Roberts University on Nov. 4.

DU defeated Fort Wayne in four sets, 25-17, 25-17, 22-25 and 25-19. Junior right-side hitter Kayla Principato (Rockville Centre, New York) led the team in kills with 16. Senior middle Ruth Okoye (Aurora, Colorado) paced the team in hitting percentage at .417, while junior libero Cassidy Rooke (Rancho Santa Fe, California) led the team in digs with 16, though four players had double digit digs.

IUPUI played an extremely competitive match with the Pioneers, but eventually DU pulled out the fifth and final set, 15-6. Denver also won the first and third sets.

Sophomore middle Emma Willis (La Jolla, California) posted an impressive 11 kills at a .389 clip. Senior setter Monique Domme (Colorado Springs, Colorado) led Denver with 25 assists and Rooke posted 22 digs, part of DU’s 70 on that night.

In Denver’s sweep (25-18, 25-13 and 25-20) of Oral Roberts, senior outside hitter Nola Basey (Lyons, Colorado) recorded the 1,000th kill of her career, the 14th Pioneer to do so. She led the team with eight kills on the night and a .471 hitting percentage.

After their recent hot-streak and improved play, the Pioneers have earned a 19-6 record overall and 11-2 in conference. They have taken first place in the Summit League standings with a .846 conference win percentage.

Denver’s next game is on Nov. 8 against the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
