We are Aish Narang & Danny Kay and we want to be your President and Vice President of USG next year at the University of Denver. If you haven’t had a chance to meet us and learn who we are and what we are about we’ve been keeping track of some of the best questions we received so far.

Q: Why do you want to be President and VP of Student Government?

A: We want to serve for student government because this school has done so much to accelerate us and what we want to achieve. It is in part due to the leaders who came before us that we have had the incredible experiences that we have. We simply want to serve our school in the same way.

Q: In one word, describe DU.

A: Home. When we decided to come to this school, DU made a promise that this school, this community, would become our home, and it has. We want nothing more than to take our roles and influence on USG to create a campus and experience in which all Pioneers feel inclined to call this place their home as well.

Q: What is a BOLD Vision?

A: To us, a BOLD Vision means that we won’t hesitate or be afraid as President and Vice President of USG. Every step we take in these roles will be taken with a posture of boldness. As we imagine new possibilities for our campus we’ll be BOLD. As we work with upper administration we’ll be BOLD. As we evaluate the work we are doing and actively seek out feedback from students we’ll be BOLD. We believe so strongly in this BOLD nature and have made it such a fundamental part of our vision for DU because we believe that our Pioneers deserve absolutely nothing less.

Q: What about your Bold Vision Platform are you most excited about?

A: Most likely the achievability of all of our preliminary ideas. In our meeting with Chancellor Chopp, she expressed her excitement for our ideas and if elected, she has agreed to discuss the pieces of our Platform that we presented to her. In addition, we believe that our Bold Vision Platform ideas are ones that when implemented will benefit every student at the University of Denver.

Q: What makes you different from the other candidates?

A: When we first started to develop our platform, it was paramount to us that we not only chose issues that spoke to our passions, but also issues that we could implement. Not only are we passionate about the key components of our Bold Vision Platform, but this passion has enabled us to already begin implementing several of our main ideas. As a way of proving our resolve to DU students we only included the specific ideas in our Bold Vision Platform in which we have already had key conversations with necessary stakeholders in order to form the partnerships we will need to achieve these goals.
